It’s an easy process. Send me a request using the contact form, with a photograph of your special pet or building and any specific requests, and then wait for my reply email.
For houses/buildings: I use high quality watercolor paints and paper and can currently supply pictures to fit a 8″x10″ standard frame. I first work with pen and ink and can finish at that stage, or continue with watercolor on top. I work with a continuous line on the pen and ink drawing which gives a flexibility and fluidity that is a little more unique and interesting (in my opinion) than a standard drawn architectural picture.
For pets/animals: I use quality watercolor pencils, acrylic paint or pastels. For acrylic paint and pastel pictures I can supply pictures 8″x10″, 9″x12″ and 11″x14″. Acrylic will be on canvas, watercolor pencil will be on watercolor paper and pastel on pastel paper.
I can work from photographs that you supply to me via email. Additional photographs may be required.
Pricing: Please contact me to find out the cost for a commission. On hearing your personalized house or pet portrait requirements, I will suggest a price for the commission. If you are not happy with the final copy of the portrait by email, there will be no charge. I do require payment by check before mailing the finished, approved picture. (Prices are in U.S. dollars with shipping included. Finished pictures do not include frames).
Please let me know in the contact form:
- Your name and contact details.
- What medium you would like your picture to be in.
- How you will be supplying the photos.
- Why the building/pet is important to you (what memories it brings to your mind).
- The date you need the picture by (generally, please allow a month for completion).
- I will send you a copy of the picture by email to make sure you are satisfied. If not, you do not need to proceed.
- I may use your picture for promotional purposes, but will ask permission and not use any personal details.
