House Portraits

Places are memories and many people take pleasure in a home or a favorite building portrait of a place where they enjoyed some wonderful family moments and jolly good times. Whether it is a family home, the place of a proposal, the birthplace of a child, the building you got married in, or your current home, house portraits are the perfect gift for someone you love. I would love to create a picture for you to remember the place of your (or a loved one’s) most special memories.

Places are incredibly important to me too: I define chapters of my life by where I’ve lived and the house I was in at the time. I am a British citizen, born in Zambia, raised in England, graduated in Scotland, and now with a permanent residence in the USA (in Wisconsin, by way of New York and Indiana).

I have rediscovered my passion for art and architecture and enjoy creating art for friends and family. I am now extending my reach to offer a service of providing customized continuous line pen and ink artwork (with or without watercolor). I was introduced to the continuous line concept by an art friend and mentor and at once fell in love with using it to delineate buildings and place: I love the fluidity and flexibility it provides.

Pet Portraits

Pets are so important to the history of ourselves: they define an era in your life story, they provide comfort, support and friendship . They only make a few demands and yet give a lifetime of love and laughter to us. And when they’re gone, the presence of them still lingers in your home to supply you with warm, fuzzy, furry memories of companionship.

Let me create a hand-painted portrait of your favorite furry friend. Whether it is your present-day companion, or in memoriam of a beloved pet pal, a one-of-a-kind portrait will adorn your home for many years to come, reminding you of unconditional love and wonderful memories. A pet portrait also makes an excellent gift for anyone in your life that means the world to you and loves animals!

Many of my friends and family asked me about pet portraiture. As more and more requested pictures of their beloved furry family members, I explored different mediums for drawing and painting animals. My favorites are watercolor pencils, acrylic paint and pastel. I love capturing a favorite pet’s persona on paper for their owner and also enjoy being quirkily inspired to make my own “alternative” persona for certain animals (see my quirky style portraits).

I live with my husband, three boys and two cats. As the lone female in the house I sometimes have to escape into art for some peace and quiet. Hopefully you’ll give me a great excuse to do so by commissioning a house or pet portrait soon! 🙂
